I have had my Pit Boss 820 Deluxe for Year and a Half now. I figured it was about time to do a review. I am reviewing this because this is my favorite thing to cook on outside. The Pit Boss is a pellet grill. It uses wood pellets to fuel the fire the burns inside. You can bake, grill, & smoke with a pellet grill. It is easy to use, just set the temperature dial, wait for it to come up to temperature, and this cook your food.

I've been thinking about getting a pellet smoker grill. Torn between Traeger or Pit Boss? After watching this review, maybe leaning toward this pit boss. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing video 👌👍🏼👍🏼
I just bought the newer version of the same smoker. I put it together today but haven't used it yet. You video was very informative, thanks for sharing! I look forward to using it very soon!
Pit boss has stooped all customer service, Mine is 6 mo old and you can not get support of any sort I would not buy this grill at all think im kidding call this # (877) 303-3134 also emailed them no reply's I had to buy a new heat prob then the new board 150.00 later im up and running I will be doing a youtube video every week making sure everyone gets it coid-19 or not this is unacceptable!
Just purchased my pellet grill second time using it ! Did burgers 🍔 then tonight a load of dry rubbed chicken thighs! So far love it! Thank you for all that info 👍🏻
Great review. I need one of these.
Sounds like he was talking from experience about the wife being pissed when using her vacuum to clean his grill… I know my wife would kick my ass hahah
My Ad blocker won't block Joe Biden's ads.
Top rack is great for additional ribs . Side shelf is for roasting potatoes or anything that might fall through the grates
I need help with troubleshooting my gill that I bought from Costco. My grill will not maintain temperature. It will go up to 350 and then drop off to 100 degrees.
Shopping for a new pellet grill/smoker to replace my old Dyna-glo charcoal grill which served me very well for 8 years. Excellent in depth review… I'm now leaning towards a Pit Boss. Thank you
great video, can i leave the grates closed for cooking burgers or dogs? or should i have it open.?
Will we have to buy a smoke tube for this grill?
I didn't peg Ben Shapiro as a "Grillin' guy". 🙂
who wants to listen to that racket while having a quiet beer— no thanks
My pitboss auger jammed up and started on fire and nearly burned my house down. As if that wasn't bad enough they won't stand behind their product even though It wasn't even a year old. Don't buy #pitboss #notamerican
Putting it together was a nightmare, holes not drilled, missing bolts, poor instructions
You are starting the pellet grill wrong .. you need the lid open that white smoke is combustible and can cause an explosion if it ignites
I’m looking at getting one of these. My question is say you want to smoke at 200-225 can you adjust the Auger to get more smoke at different temps or just in the smoke mode?
I have the same smoker.. and love it.. I need to experiment more with it, but for smoking meat, it ROCKS! I've done Papa Murphy's pizza on it, but I need to try some other things..
Great video, in the market for a pellet grill and this was a huge help. Well done.
Is there some other grill that doesn't use fuel ? Please let me know.
My Question is when cooking a brisket on a pitboss do you keep it on smoke mode and at that low heat how will that effect the bark
I would put aluminium foil on the drip tray and take it off after every cook.
I've had mine about 2 years and I loved it. That being said I spent a lot of time working on it too. It jams alot and I've replaced 3 motors. All the parts have been free under warranty but I'm sick of it always breaking down. Time for something else.
Love the Pit Boss, I don't have the deluxe ( which I believe you don't need) have had mine for years now and not one problem. No flare ups and great food. Just keep the burner and grill clean and you will be good to go. Also not a bad price for what it is.
awesome review mate
Just order the camping one online! Great video
I think this may have just been the nail in the coffin on my consideration to buy a Pit Boss.
Very good review. What parts will wear out from rust and such. Are the the parts available to purchase and are they fairly easy to replace?
I have had three Big Green Eggs and every one of them has cracked. The new ones are so heavy you can’t pick them up and the wheels rust so they don’t turn. I think I’m going to try the Pit Boss. Thanks again…
If you don't use the charbroil option have you ever thought about lining or wrapping the heat deflector with foil?
Excellent review. I’m looking at pellet grills right now, and I’ve been leaning towards the Pit Boss. Our local Lowe’s carries them and they’re pre-assembled. The one I’m looking at has a nice big utility self across the front. But, you review pretty much made my decision for me. I hope the people at Pit Boss see it and send some merch your way.
What is the cleaning intervals though? Very thorough video. How often do you clean it using everyday
Very detailed analysis! Appreciate your attention to detail. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks good Sir great review even tho I got the classic about a year ago you still did great 👍 thanks my favorite grill too I managed a inside lawn and garden Dept for Lowes for 5 yrs and sold tons of grills when this thing came out I knew quality when I saw it but didn’t k ow how well till I took the Bad boy home !!!
Just got one on clearance at cabelas, 449
Great review i purchased my pit boss from your review.
That pellet grill is way too expensive for the common man.
Thanks for taking the time to do this for the rest of us new grill owners who are wondering about the info in your good video..
I looked at buying one and had a friend that bought one, but he was not happy with it and he went to a charcoal grill and I have a gas grill I like.
What do you have your chimney height set at? Is chimney height important?
Put a sheet of tinfoil under the grates. Helps with the clean up.
Wow, very in depth. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Great video!!! You've answered alot of the questions I had.. I can buy one now!
Nice thorough review. The only problems that I was hoping you would mention is when you let it run out of wood pellets. Getting the feeder primed takes a little time but that’s no problem. The issue I have is that I guess letting the auger run out of pellets puts a strain on the auger motor. At a year and a half I am now having to replace the auger motor. I hope everything else is ok. Anyway I love using this smoker for smoking and grilling. Makes the food taste so much better.
How often does it need to be cleaned?
Love my pitt boss. For the heat shield that slides to expose flame I drilled hole in end of barbecue , slid a threaded rod thru and into a hole that I put on the lip sticking up on heat shield. Put nut on threaded rod on each side of lip to secure rod and when I want to expose food to direct heat I can now pull from outside the end of barbecue. Works perfect.
